Hurricane Irma Social Media Response

One of DBPR’s highest priorities is to protect Florida consumers from unlicensed activity, which runs-rampant after natural disasters like Hurricane Irma. As DBPR’s social media manager, I was responsible for educating the public on the dangers of hiring unlicensed contractors in addition to other relevant updates.

Designed infographics that outlined the Secretary’s Emergency Order following Hurricane Irma.

I shared information like:

• Press releases from the Governor that provided updates on Hurricane Irma response efforts.
• Resources and tips for hurricane recovery.
• DBPR efforts to combat unlicensed activity in the affected areas.
• Potential scams targeting Hurricane Irma victims.

Filmed and edited a PSA starring DBPR Secretary Johnathan Zachem warning Florida consumers about unlicensed contracting after Hurricane Irma. The video was then shared on social media.
