As Acting Deputy Communications Director at DBPR, I maintained several professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders. One of my primary responsibilities in this role was to respond to media requests. I was required to effectively triage requests to the correct department based on working knowledge of the 7 businesses and 30 professions licensed and regulated by DBPR. I collaborated with the public records coordinator to obtain documents and the legal department to ensure content was properly reviewed and redacted. I managed reporter expectations to maintain a positive relationship and rapport. I also communicated directly with the Governor’s office, upper management, and legal regarding high-profile requests.
